Elementary School Boundry Change
Select areas of Brighton Crossings will have a different elementary boundary area school in the 2025-2026 school year. Please on the link below review a document with the 2024-2025 school information and the 2025-2026 school information, and a transportation offer that will be going out to families with students affected.
What are enrollment boundaries?
School attendance boundary areas are specific geographic zones within our school district that determine which students attend particular public schools based on where they live. These boundaries are designed to ensure that schools can effectively manage student populations, balance enrollment numbers, and provide equitable access to educational resources. By assigning students to schools within their local neighborhoods, these boundaries help minimize travel distance, foster community connections, and make efficient use of school facilities and resources.
Why are changes necessary?
Changes to school attendance boundaries may be necessary to address shifts in population and ensure schools are not overcrowded or underutilized. As neighborhoods grow and change, some schools may become too crowded, while others have too few students. Redrawing boundaries helps balance enrollment across schools, ensuring all students have access to quality education and adequate resources.
As our school district has grown, these changes have commonly been made to establish enrollment boundaries for newly constructed schools. For these specific changes, these boundary adjustments were needed to better balance enrollment at existing elementary schools and not accommodate new schools. These changes impact neighborhoods that serve students who presently attend West Ridge, Padilla, Henderson and Turnberry elementary schools.
